Kitchen fire will close Brunch Club restaurant until weekend, owner says

UPDATE @ 10 a.m.: 

The Brunch Club is expected to be closed a few days, with the hope of reopening this weekend after a fire broke out in the kitchen Wednesday morning.

The fire started when a grill was turned on, according to investigators, but fire was quickly controlled by a suppression system.

No customers were inside the restaurant when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported.

A fire at the Brunch Club restaurant in Dayton has been contained, according to initial reports.

Other details were not immediately available.

Fire crews have responded to reports a fire at the Brunch Club restaurant in downtown Dayton Wednesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the restaurant at 601 South Main Street around 8:50 a.m. and reported smoke was coming from the building, according to initial reports.

Scanner traffic from the scene indicates the fire started in the kitchen, but might have spread into other parts of the building.
