Chief Biehl also challenged other local chiefs to contact area troops to see if they had any cookies left

Girl Scouts cut the cookie program short this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, resulting in an average loss of $900 per troop, according to the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.

The challenge calls on people to donate at least four cases of cookies, about $250, to show community spirit.

Troops will donate the cookies to community partners, including foodbanks, schools, hospitals and other essential workers during the pandemic.
