The 25 concerts left to see this summer in Cincinnati

Summer is halfway over. You may have already taken your beach vacation, and the heat can be exhausting.

But you can’t be burned out yet — there is still full calendar of blockbuster summer concerts left to see. So drag yourself off the couch and dust off your fist pumps, because the remaining must-see shows for the summer 2018 season are:

July 22

Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Wheels of Soul Tour 2018

For the fourth consecutive year, the versatile Tedeschi Trucks Band is headlining a multi-band summer tour. This year, the guests are the alt-country Drive-By Truckers, the former band of Jason Isbell, and the up-and-coming blues outfit, the Marcus King Band. The 12-piece Tedeschi Trucks Band, headed by the married guitarist duo, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, plays a combination of soul, blues, rock and country. (PNC Pavilion, $23.50-$86).

July 24

Chris Brown, with H.E.R., 6lack, and Rich the Kid

Chris Brown is touring in support of his eighth studio release, the 45-track double album, “Heartbreak on a Full Moon.” Hopefully, he’ll take his anger meds before coming to the Queen City. Brown has three up-and-comers opening for him. They are: H.E.R., the once-anonymous vocalist whose acronym stands for, somewhat ironically, “Having Everything Revealed,” 6lack, the rapper/songwriter whose 2016 debut album, “Free 6lack,” went gold, and Rich the Kid, the rapper/songwriter/producer who, after several mixtapes, signed with Interscope Records in 2017. He released his full-length studio debut, “The World Is Yours,” last March. (Riverbend, $25-$149.99).

July 25

Niall Horan, with Maren Moris

After leaving One Direction, Niall Horan moved in a more mature “direction” with his hit solo single, “Slow Hands.” His debut solo album, “Flicker” was released last October. Opening is Maren Morris, a country singer/songwriter. Her major-label debut, “Hero,” was nominated for the 2016 Best Country Album Grammy. (Riverbend, $29.50-$107)

July 25

Radiohead

Widely regarded to be one of the greatest rock bands of all time, or just “greatest bands of all time” since their musicality goes well beyond rock, Radiohead still stop in Cincinnati in support of their 2016 release, “A Moon Shaped Pool.” (U.S. Bank Arena, $65-$85).

July 26

Kenny Chesney, with Old Dominion

This country superstar is stopping in Cincinnati just one day before releasing his 18th album, “Songs for the Saints.” Old Dominion, a Nashville-based country band whose members have written for Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, and The Band Perry, will open. (Riverbend, $32.50-$103).

July 27

Yanni 25 – Acropolis Anniversary Concert Tour

Yanni’s 2018 summer tour commemorates the 25th anniversary of “Live at the Acropolis,” the live classical album that made Yanni a superstar (and a punch line) in 1993. (PNC Pavilion, $23.50-$85).

July 28

Wiz Khalifa & Rae Sremmurd, with Lil Skies and O.T. Genasis

Rap superstar Wiz Khalifa, is teaming up with hip hop duo, Rae Sremmurd, to co-headline the Dazed & Blazed Summer Amphitheater Tour. Opening is Lil Skies, who released his debut mixtape last January, and O.T. Genasis, who has released four mixtapes with G-Unit and Busta Rhymes’ Conglomerate Records. (Riverbend, $38-$98.50)

Aug. 2

Lily Tomlin

This veteran stand-up comedian and actress is different things to different people: Ernestine on “Laugh-In,” the award-winning creator of multiple comedy albums, the A-list star of comedies like “9 to 5” and “All of Me,” or the latter-day star of Netflix’s “Gracie and Frankie” and the Sundance hit, “Grandma.” (Taft Theatre, $38.50-$125).

Aug. 3

2018 Honda Civic Tour, featuring Charlie Puth and guest, Hailee Steinfeld

Charlie Puth, responsible for the hit singles “See You Again” and “One Call Away,” is touring in support of his second album, “Voicenotes.” Supporting is Hailee Steinfeld, star of such films as “True Grit” and “The Edge of Seventeen.” She released her debut EP, “Haiz,” in 2015. Aug. 4

Zac Brown Band

This mega-popular country band’s summer tour will stop at 14 major league baseball stadiums, including the home of our surging Reds. The tour is supporting their fifth album, “Welcome Home.” Supporting are OneRepublic, Leon Bridges, Nahko and Medicine for the People, the Mark O’Connor Band, and Darrell Scott. (Great American Ball Park, $26-$550).

Aug. 4

The End of the World Tour, with Avenged Sevenfold & Prophets of Rage

Avenged Sevenfold, who have been making heavy metal great again for several years, is co-headlining with Prophets of Rage, the politically fiery rap/rock supergroup comprised of members of Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine, and Cypress Hill. (Riverbend, $29.50-$125)

Aug. 5

Rascal Flatts, with Dan + Shay and Carly Pearce

The pop country band, Rascall Flatts, is touring in support of their ninth album, “Back To Us,” released last year. Opening is Dan + Shay, a country duo that has produced three top 40 singles, and Carly Pearce, a country singer who produced her first number one hit last year. (Riverbend, $29.50-$93.75)

Aug. 8

Jeff Beck and Paul Rodgers, with Ann Wilson of Heart

Jeff Beck, the legendary jazz and rock guitarist, is co-headlining the “Stars Align” tour with Paul Rodgers, the Free and Bad Company vocalist. Joining them is Ann Wilson, one-half of the sister duo that originally formed the seminal hard rock band, Heart. (Riverbend, $25-$350)

Aug. 10

Chicago and REO Speedwagon, with Michael Tolcher

This co-headlining Chicago and REO Speedwagon show are sure to saturate the air with power ballads. Opening is Michael Tolcher, a singer/songwriter who has released three EPs and three full-length albums since 2003, the latest being 2018’s “Elemental.” (Riverbend, $29.50-$129.50)

JJ Grey & Mofro and Blackberry Smoke, with J. Roddy Walston and The Business

It’s an evening of Southern soul rock with co-headliners JJ Grey & Mofro and Blackberry Smoke. J. Roddy Walston & The Business, a rock band known for its exuberant piano playing, will open. (PNC Pavilion, $23.50-$63).

Aug. 12

David Byrne American Utopia Tour, with Benjamin Clementine

David Byrne, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame visionary, is touring in support of his 11th solo album, “American Utopia.” Opening is the award-winning, prodigal composer, Benjamin Clementine. (PNC Pavilion, $35-$175).

Aug. 17

Lynyrd Skynrd, with Hank Williams, Jr., .38 Special, and the Steel Woods

This mammoth bill features Southern rock legends, Lynyrd Skynyrd, country legend, Hank Williams, Jr., and the 1980s hitmakers .38 Special. Opening is The Steel Woods, a Southern rock country quartet that openly embraces the Skynyrd sound. (Riverbend, sold out but tickets are available at secondary outlets).

Aug. 18

G-Eazy, with Lil Uzi Vert, Ty Dolla $ign, YBN Nahmir, P-Lo, and Murda Beatz

G-Eazy is bringing his 2018 Endless Summer Tour to Cincinnati. Joining him is Lil Uzi Vert, who released his debut album last year, Ty Dolla $ign (“Paranoid,” “Or Nah,” “Blasé”), 18-year-old newcomer YBN Nahmir (“Rubbin’ Off the Paint”), the HBK Gang co-founder, P-Lo, and Murda Beatz, best known for his production credits and mixtapes. Keith Urban, with Kelsea Ballerini

Keith Urban, country superstar and “American Idol” judge, is on his Graffiti U World Tour, in support of his 10th album, “Graffiti U,” released last April. Opening is Kelsea Ballerini, a pop country singer who received the Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2017. (Riverbend, $33.50-$101.50).

Aug. 21

American Idol Live!

As “American Idol” returns to TV screens, so does the follow-up national tour. This show will feature the most recent finalists, Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Catie Turner, Gabby Barrett, Jurnee, Maddie Poppe and Michael J. Woodward. Kris Allen, winner of “American Idol” Season 8, will also perform as a special guest. (Taft Theatre, $38.50-$58.50).

Aug. 21

Deep Purple and Judas Priest

Two heavy metal legends collide in this co-headlining tour. But this won’t be just a nostalgic, “best of” tour. Both bands have released new albums, Deep Purple’s “Infinite” in 2017 and Judas Priest’s “Firepower” in 2018. (Riverbend, $34-$159).

Aug. 22

Jason Mraz, with Brett Dennen

Jason Mraz, the Grammy-winning acoustic singer/songwriter, will come to Riverbend just as his sixth album, “Know,” is being released. Opening is Brett Dennen, a folk-pop songwriter who has released six albums since 2004. (PNC Pavilion, $23.50-$95)

Aug. 25

Voodoo Threauxdown, featuring Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Galactic, Preservation Hall Brass Band, and more

Trombone Shorty, a New Orleans-based multi-instrumentalist and community activist, is commemorating the 300th anniversary of New Orleans’s founding by organizing an all-star lineup of Big Easy musicians and bringing its sound to 27 cities, including Cincinnati. (PNC Pavilion, $23.50-$77)

Aug. 28

Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch, with Nothing More and Bad Wolves

Hard-charging metal band, Five Finger Death Punch, will co-headline with the more soulful hard rockers, Breaking Benjamin. Supporting are Grammy nominees, Nothing More, and the supergroup, Bad Wolves, known for their updated cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” (Riverbend, $30-$100).

Sept. 4

Alice Cooper

What better way to close out the summer season than with the Godfather of Shock Rock? Alice Cooper comes to town the night after Labor Day, supporting his 27th studio album, the extremely understated, “Paranormal.” (Taft Theatre, $48.50-$69.50)
