A unique, 20th-century masterpiece painting will be making its way from the North Coast to the Gem City for all of Dayton to see.

The Dayton Art Institute will feature a masterpiece painting by Paul Cézanne, one of the most influential artists in the history of 20th-century painting, called  The Pigeon Tower at Bellevue.

The work is on loan from the Cleveland Museum of Art, and will be open to the public Saturday, Oct. 24 - January 10, 2016.

The uncrating and installation of the painting will take place in Gallery 218 of the museum's Berry Wing of European Art from 2-2:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 during a special media event.

The painting depicts a towering rock formation in the small town of Bellevue in southern France, where the artist’s brother-in-law lived, according to DAI.

Cézanne's painting will serve as the highlight of two focus exhibitions in Gallery 218 of the Berry Wing of European Art.

Toil and Leisure, taking place in the fall of 2015, looks at the evolution of 19th century French landscape painting, featuring some of Cézanne's near contemporaries, including Jean Baptiste Camille Corot, Jean François Millet and Charles François Daubigny, among others.

A second focus exhibition in the spring of 2016 will focus on the modern evolution of landscape painting after Cézanne, according to daytonartinstitute.org.

Cost is free to members and is included in suggested general admission for non-members.
