JUST IN: Beavercreek restaurant makes list of ‘fastest growing’

A restaurant that opened its first Dayton-area location just two months ago at the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek today scored a national shout-out for the chain’s swift growth.

The Lakewood, Ohio-based Melt Bar & Grilled was named to the 2017 Inc. 5000 list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Melt ranked 4,906th on the list, with 2016 revenue of $17.6 million and a three-year annual growth rate of 44 percent, according to the Inc.com web site.

Melt was founded in 2006 and operates nine locations in northern and central Ohio in addition to the Beavercreek restaurant. Its 11th restaurant is under construction in Canton.

“The last 10 years have been a whirlwind,” Matt Fish, owner and founder of Melt Bar & Grilled, said this morning in a release. “Going from one location to 10, with another opening soon, has been an incredible journey for the entire Melt family, including myself.”

“It is awesome knowing that our customers find happiness and joy when they visit Melt Bar and Grilled and that we are growing and doing well, but when an impartial third party like Inc. validates that success, that’s something we’re very proud of,” Fish said.

Melt offers specialty grilled-cheese sandwiches with many added ingredients — Fish calls it “cool comfort food” — as well as craft beers, specialty cocktails and an eclectic atmosphere.

The 5,000-square-foot Beavercreek restaurant seats more than 150 inside and another 45 on a patio.
