WHAT TO EXPECT
“Art Fair is Pyramid Hill’s opportunity to connect with local and regional artists. It allows us to impact our community by creating economic opportunities for the artists, which inspires the creation of new works and contributes to our region’s creative assets,” said Jeni Barton, art fair coordinator.
Diverse artists from across Southwest Ohio are expected to participate with juried art, featuring a variety of mediums, such as painting, drawing, photography, print-making, ceramics, glass, fiber, jewelry, wood-working, metal, sculptures and more. Artists will have work on display, and offer their artwork for sale.
“I think by recruiting so many different mediums and artistic styles, we’re able to represent a good cross-section of the creativity available in this region,” Barton said. “We reach out to artists working in so many different areas…We have artists that are making stellar work who are at the beginning phases of their careers, and we have artists that have been doing this fair all 15 years who are masters in their craft.”
Ralph Barker of Barker Ornaments has been participating in the art fair for 15 years. Many guests come every year to purchase their Barker Ornament.
As far as trends in the art world, Barton said they are seeing more three-dimensional art. And, they are starting to get more sculptural artists, who are applying to be a part of the art fair.
“I think we may also see an increase in experiential art. As that becomes more popular, and as artists find new ways to make that a revenue generator, we’ll start to see more experiential artwork appearing at things like art fairs,” she said.

In addition to the featured artwork, there will be several demonstrations throughout the fair, such as a glass-blowing demonstration by Neusole Glassworks. The fair offers live music/entertainment with six acts this year as well as food/drink vendors. The Community Pavilion will showcase community partners and provide additional family-friendly activities through partnerships with the Fitton Center for Creative Arts and Oxford Community Arts Center. The straw maze is another popular activity for children. There will also be metalsmith and rope-making activities for attendees of all ages.
